Arcus were appointed to oversee improvements to the public realm in Wheatsheaf Walk, Ormskirk. Wheatsheaf Walk links Leyland Way car park to Burscough Street and it was imperative of the client that the area remained open to the public throughout the project.

The works involved enhancement of an existing public thoroughfare while retaining a historic mosaic, as well as the careful demolition and removal of the existing pagoda structure. The full reconstruction of the footway required the provision of new lighting, street furniture and planting of a new mature tree. New buff granite and stone sett paving and a new central planter worked well to revitalise the area, whilst new granite benches improved rest and meeting points for the public.
