Westec in Omskirk is a new build scheme of 27 units, comprising 8 flats and 27 detached and semi detached houses. The site was challenging due to previously housing several industrial buildings and multiple sewers, one of which had collapsed, and several drainage issues, causing considerable contamination. Arcus carefully managed the contractor to ensure thorough decontamination and repair holding regular inspections and escalating any issues found to ensure approval by building control and a high quality standard at finish.

The project provided West Lancashire Borough Council with a return above that originally anticipated and the project has additionally gone on to win project of the year in Lancashire, for New Housing Development.  It has also been short listed at the Inside Housing Awards for its design and construction quality.
