Arcus were pleased to provide Principal Designer and CDM Advisor services for the duration of the design and construction of West Smethwick Park’s new community building. The project is part of the wider restoration of the park and will see a new building with a café, conference facilities, community rooms and toilets built on the site of the previous pavilion, which was demolished in 1982. The new pavilion is a multi-functional split level building, with new link path from car park including an events space on the existing site of the historic bandstand.

The project is a joint funded venture with National Lottery and Sandwell Metropolitan Borough Council, and will see many improvements throughout the park; including the restoration and conservation of the park’s heritage features such as the Chance Memorial, drinking fountain and entrance gateways.
