Arcus provided both help line and Quantity Surveying services to Severn Trent Water (STW) over a four year period, managing an average spend of £8.5m per annum for both reactive planned/capital works. The service provided includes the provision of a helpline, the management of the building and fencing Maintenance Term Contractors, procurement of contractors, and the development of a bespoke schedule of rates. Other services provided to STW outside the core services included undertaking condition surveys, providing structural advice, feasibility studies and the provision of general professional advice.
A The majority of the work carried out through the contract was valued based on a bespoke Schedule of Rates (SOR’s) which in part was developed by Arcus. Our team also developed a bespoke Asset Management system to control the works being carried out by the contractors. This enabled Arcus to track in real time the amount of work being carried out by each contractor. The accurate management of STW’s budgets ensured that both monthly and annual expenditure targets were met.
Their Helpdesk service serves well as a single point of contact for ordering and query resolution, while their auditing service has ensured submitted claims remain accurate and within expected costs.
