Retrofit Co-Ordinator, Designer and Principal Designer for energy efficiency improvement works to 5 properties in Salford. The project forms part of Phase 1 of the ‘Social Housing Decarbonisation Fund’ that has been made available to assist the upgrade of social housing stock currently of or below Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) C. The works being undertaken include external wall insulation, relocation of soil vent pipes, window and door replacement and the extension of the roof coverings.

PAS 2035 requires that all domestic retrofit projects incorporate a Retrofit Coordinator.  Our role on this project has been to oversee the project, provide a midterm plan which identifies different retrofit measures as well as the subsequent viability, monitoring, and evaluation of energy efficiency measures, in accordance with PAS 2035. Our involvement has been from project start and will commence throughout the project duration to ensure the project is safe, of a high quality and meets the retrofit measures.  Arcus retrofit coordinators have attained the Level 5 Diploma in Retrofit Coordination and Risk Management and are Trust Mark accredited.

Arcus Retrofit Designers on the project are qualified RIBA Architects, CIAT Architectural Technologists and RICS Building Surveyors.  Our role for this project was to design relevant energy efficiency improvements to the dwellings using our knowledge and experience of the best retrofit solutions.

I have found the advice and technical expertise received from Arcus in relation to achieving PAS2035 compliant designs has been invaluable to date.
